Getting started
Save your first items from the paste box, find them again, and the keyboard shortcuts.
DevStash is one place for the snippets, commands, prompts, notes, and links you keep reaching for, and a quick way to share any of them by link. Everything you save is private until you share it.

Save from the paste box
Home opens with a paste box. Paste anything and DevStash guesses what it is:
- Snippet: code, with the language detected for highlighting
- Command: one or more terminal commands; a leading
$prompt is dropped - Note: prose or markdown, including a whole doc or gist (see Notes as pages)
- Prompt: a request or instructions for an AI model
- Link: a single web URL
If the guess is wrong, pick another type from the chips under the box before saving. Save keeps the item private. Save and share saves it, makes it unlisted, and copies its link (see Sharing and links).
For the full form with a title, description, language, tags, and collections, use New Item in the top bar.
Tip: Paste first and decide later. Everything stays private until you share it, and you can change the type, title, and tags afterwards.
Find things again
- The sidebar lists Home, Shared, Favorites, your item types, and your collections.
- Any list switches between dense rows and code cards, and shows 25, 50, or 100 items per page.
- Pinned items stay at the top of Home. Favorites collects everything you star.
- Search opens with Cmd or Ctrl+K and matches item titles, the start of their content, and collection names.
Click any item to open it in the drawer, where you can edit, copy, pin, favorite, share, or delete it.
